City may invoke eminent domain for Diamondhead Mall

September 15, 1993 - Burnsville Current reports: After failing as a shopping center, the City of Burnsville proposes acquiring the mall for a community center. Voters will decide November 2 whether to approve bonds so the project can proceed. The City and Mall owners could not agree on a price. The Mall was eventually sold to Independent School District 191 and served as a high school campus.
