Fishing clinics for children ages 6 to 10 are held in August, at Crystal Beach Park, 1101 Crystal Lake Road E. Aspiring anglers will learn how to set up their rod, bait their hook, cast like a pro and take fish off their line. They’ll also learn about different kinds of fish and the baits used to attract them.
Cost is $10 for one session. Participants are asked to register for only one. All equipment will be provided, but if kids have a special rod, but students may bring a special reel or tackle from home. A fishing license isn’t required for youth under 15. Parents are welcome to stay but will need their own equipment and a license if they intend to fish. The clinic is presented in partnership with Minnesota Trout Unlimited and Trout in the Classroom. - Photo compliments of the City of Burnsville.
