Alice McDermottAlice McDermott was the second child born to Bernard and Anne McDermott in December, 1854 or January 1855 in Ottawa, Illinois. She was six months old when the McDermott's settled by Crystal Lake, Dakota County 1855. In 1878 she married Patrick Casey, who farmed near the McDermott farm. They married in 1878 and lived on a farm in Lakeville. She died in 1883. She is buried at Highland Cemetery.

Julia Elizabeth (LuLu) was born September 22, 1883 and married Patrick Walsh June 8, 1904. She died
February 17, 1963.

Bryan McDermott dies 1903Published in the Dakota County Tribune October 23, 1903, the flowery obituary provides a biography of the early Burnsville and Dakota County pioneer. Born in 1819 and he spent his early years in the counties of Wexford and Wicklow, Ireland. In 1858 he came to America and in 1851 he married Miss Ann McDonald. They spent about seven years in Kingston, NY and Peoria and Ottawa Ill. He then came to Minnesota and settled on a farm in Burnsville on the north bank of Crystal Lake, where he lived for several years. From there he moved to a farm in Lebanon (Apple Valley), where he resided until two years ago when he moved to St. Paul, living there about a year. He then moved to Hamilton (Savage), where he resided up to the time of his death October 18, 1903... He raised a family of 12 children, seven of whom, along with his wife, survive him, who with a host of friends will keep him in loving rembrance....

He married Patrick Walsh June 8, 1904 at St. John the Baptist Church, Savage. She was the second child born to John and Mary McDermott and was born shortly before the McDermott's moved back to Burnsville.

Charles McDermottCharles McDermott was born July 14, 1885 in Burnsville. He married Gertrude Doherty January 13, 1913. He spent a lot of his young life with grandparents the O'Neill's. In 1905 Charlie and his father went to North Dakota to homestead. He spent most of his life farming near Pingree. On August 12, 1921 his wife died. Charles died July 14, 1967 in Davenport Iowa and is buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Minneapolis.

John C. McDermottJohn C. McDermott was the son of Bernard and Ann McDermott born January 7, 1858. It is believed he was born on the family farm at Crystal Lake. A few years later the family moved to Lebanon Township (Apple Valley). He married Mary O'Neill May 31, 1881 at St. John the Baptist Church, Burnsville. He died November 1, 1932.

She died at age 13 on September 24, 1881. She is buried at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Mary McDermott dies 1929Born September 13, 1856 in Burnsville, she married John McDermott May 30, 1881 and to them 10 children were born. Around 1921 she moved to Farmington, spending most of the time hospitalized. She died December 5, 1929.

McDermott (various years)A new grave stone has been placed on the site of the burial of Bernard (Bryan) 1819 - 1903 and Anne McDonald McDermott 1829 -1916. It also lists their children Thomas, Alice, Bridget, John, Edward, Anna, Thomas, Mary Jane, Margaret, Bernard, Michael and Julia. The original grave stone for Margaret (Maggie) and one other child have fallen and are now in the ground.
