Herman Holman obituaryUndated - After nearly a year of illness from heart trouble, Herman Holman age 63, well known resident for many years of the Crystal Lake Community died in University Hospital April 13... He was born in Germany August 30, 1881, a son of Louis and Augusta Holman. At the age of one year he came to Minnesota and lived in the Rosemount vicinity his entire life. He married Ella Scott June 7, 1905 and they went directly to a farm on the shores of Crystal Lake, where they have continued to reside the past 38 years...

Besides his widow, he is survived by two children - Earl and Edna, his father Louis Holman and three brothers Henry, Simon and Adolph, three sisters Ann Boughner, Louise Blomgren and Minnie LeTendre and four grandchildren...

LeRoy Holman 1937-2013LeRoy Earl Holman, 75, of Menahga, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga.

LeRoy Born on May 2, 1937 in Burnsville Township, Dakota County, Minnesota to Earl Holman and Florence Self. LeRoy served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957 as an Aircraft Mechanic stationed at Sheppard AFB, Texas, and Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota.

With an Honorable Discharge he moved his family back to Burnsville where he became a Burnsville Constable. In 1961 when Burnsville became a city, he was one of the first Police Officers of the Burnsville Police Department, Badge #3.

Around 1964, he started building houses under his family name of “Holman Builders” and about 1966 or 1967 the owner/operator of Niawa Star Lodge, a resort 12 miles north of Park Rapids on Skunk Lake.
