This tank, not nearly as large as the original million gallon tank in Burnsville, will be turned over to the township when it is completed. It will serve River Hills and the surrounding area. The tank is located on the south side of Highway 13.

Northwestern States Portland Cement, now site of Walmart.September 3, 1964 Dakota County Tribune reports via a new photo: Northwestern States Portland Cement Company, a cement distribution center located on Highways 13 and 35 W in Burnsville Village is shown looking west. The $1.5 million complex opened March 9, 1964 as a distribution point for cement in the Twin Cities area. The cement, manufactured in Mason City, Iowa is shipped to the plant by rail. The large silos at the left of the photo are storage towers which hold cement for the busy season. The other buildings are offices and apartments. This is now the site of Walmart.
