2011 - 2012 City of Burnsville Residents GuidePage 18 of the guide features the Burnsville Peforming Arts Center (Now called the Ames Center). It opened in January 2009 and features a 1,000 seat main theatre, a black box theatre, art gallery, rehearsal space, and banquet and meeting facilities.

The Heart of the City Race is a Running race in Burnsville, Minnesota consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run, 10K, 5K.
All net proceeds benefit the Kids Feeding Kids program, a partnership with the Twin Cities Boys & Girls Club. Race fees include a long-sleeved tech shirt, drawstring swag bag, refreshments and participation in the Burnsville Fire Muster Festival. These certified 15K, 10K and 5K races are looped around residential streets throughout the beautiful Heart of the City of Burnsville.
